Joyeux Noël...

Ed eccolo, il tanto atteso (o temuto, o odiato, o ignorato - dipende dalle circostanze) giorno di Natale è arrivato anche quest'anno. Più passano gli anni e più sento forte di appartenere alla categoria Scrooge e ritengo bazzecole le tante, troppe cose che circondano il Natale - oh se Dickens potesse vedere quello odierno, di quanto sia sempre più una festa commerciale, il "Bah! Humbug!" di Scrooge sarebbe ancor più deciso e forte! O forse il finale sarebbe completamente stravolto. Comunque...

 And so here we go, the awaited and longed for (or dreaded, or despised, or neglected - depending on circumstances) Xmas day has come this year as well. As time goes by I feel more and more as a Scrooge and I believe as humbug all those xmas-y things - oh if Dickens could see what Xmas has become in these days, how much of a commercial festivity it is now, Scrooge's "Bah! Humbug!" would be even more loud and sound! Or maybe the end of the novel would be just so much different. Oh well...

..Questo post è per augurare a tutti voi un felice e sereno Natale..
E spero non siate impazziti con i regali come le folli folle che ho visto (di sfuggita) ovunque in questi giorni perché non ne vale davvero la pena... Sono soltanto entrata un attimo in libreria lunedì alle 7 di sera per prendere la 3° e ultima parte dell'ultimo libro di una saga che sto leggendo e quando ho visto la super-mega-coda.impossible alle casse ho desistito e sono uscita di corsa - ma siccome il libro mi serviva davvero! sono nel frattempo andata a fare la spesa e poi son tornata in libreria in orario di chiusura (e la folla si era smaltita alla grande) entrando ovviamente con tutta la busta della spesa di sopravvivenza, carta igienica compresa (eccerto :D ). Ma insomma, non si riescono a fare le cose normali in questi giorni?!?! Ecco perché proprio non mi piace il periodo natalizio, tutto l'impazzimento per lo shopping e le musichette lagnosissime ovunque, le pubblicità martellanti di pandori confezionati, servizi telefonici, profumi profumosi, giocattoli mirabolanti che tutti i bimbi dovrebbero avere, e la corsa a regali e regalini per tutti è una cosa talmente futile secondo me, e anche parecchio antiecologica. Bazzecole, appunto, rispetto a quello che il Natale dovrebbe essere...
Perché la cosa bella del Natale è l'avere il tempo di stare assieme ai nostri affetti, la nostra famiglia, i nostri amici, e tutto il resto non conta, davvero.

  E allora vi auguro un felice e sereno Natale con i vostri cari.

And I hope you didn't get crazy with the presents as the crowds I've seen everywhere in these past days, since it reall isn't worth it... I just entered for a second in a bookshop on monday at 7 pm to buy me the third book of a saga I'm currently reading and when I saw the queue to the cash register counter I gave up and run to the exit - but since I really needed the book I went to the grocery shop in the mean time and got back to the bookshop just in time for closing time (and the queue was eventually gone), with all my grocery shopping bag of course, including toilet paper :D oh well, but it was impossible to do anything normal in these past days!! That's why I don't really like Xmas time, since everyone seems to go crazy shopping, silly xmas songs on air everywhere, hassle commercial of wrapped food, telephone companies, perfumed perfumes, astonishing toys that every kid should have, and the run to the perfect present for like everyone out there, it's something I really hate about this time of the year, it's meaningless in my opinion, and even not really eco-friendly. All humbug if compared with what Christmas really represents...
Since the real beauty of Christmas is to be with the beloved ones, our family and our friends, and nothing else really matters.

  So I wish you all a very merry Xmas with your loved ones.

E detto ciò vi faccio un regalino e vi lascio in compagnia di belle immagini natalizie con alberi un po' diversi dal solito, addobbi carini e simpatici e anche un po' rustici DIY a costo quasi zero che farei anche io se avessi la casa adatta e un motivo per farli (e anche la voglia :D )
E vi lascio anche in compagnia della bellissima canzone di Natale che amo - mica come quelle musichette sceme che si sentono in giro oggigiorno! Bah! Humbug! :) 

And that said, I leave you in good company with some nice Xmas pictures with cute and different DIY trees and ornaments I would make myself if only I had the right place and a reason and motivation to do it (and if I was not that lazy :D )
And also with a beautiful, warm, sensitive Xmas song which is of course my favourite - not like those pesky songs you hear in these days! Bah! Humbug! :)
